Meet Miles Morales in 'Spider-Verse' Trailer

Sony has released the first teaser trailer for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, an animated feature spotlighting Mile Morales (and other Spider-Men and Women). It was unveiled at Brazil Comic-Con, and appears to be based on Marvel's Spider-Verse comic event, in which multiple Spider-Men and Women from across the Multiverse fought to save themselves and their worlds from the vampiric Inheritors.

None of that story is shown in this trailer, which is heavy on the action, using cutting edge animation and VFX to show the beauty, vertigo and fun of swinging high above the streets of New York. There is also a brief look at Miles' origin, and a hint of the other bearers of the Spider totem, including someone who appears to be Spider-Gwen, and another who could be Peter Parker, Otto Octavius in Peter's body, or most likely Pavitr Prabhakar, AKA Spider-Man: India.

While the movie is undoubtedly going to be full of drama and suspense, the trailer is pure fun, and climaxes with a look at an unmasked, winded Miles Morales, who is voiced by Shameik Moore (The Get Down).

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse premieres December 21, 2018.
